Thanks to your contributions Jake is finished with his surgeries and has received the care he needed. His foster parents have become so attached that it also looks like he will soon be a permanent member of their family. He did have a few restless weeks but is now sleeping in his kennel through the night before a 5:30 a.m. walk. After his early morning bathroom break, he climbs into bed with his foster parents and snuggles for an hour before a breakfast of the canned food that has been taunting him by sitting on the kitchen counter.

Once his family is up and ready for the day, which could not happen without his ever watchful eye, he joins them on the porch while they enjoy their morning coffee. It’s here that he takes an opportunity to say hello to the neighbors on their way to work and spend a little time greeting all the neighborhood cats. Jake was even able to spend a day with his foster dad at his office, and patiently sat on his lap while meetings took place around him.

Now that he’s well on the road to recovery, little Jake has become quite adventurous and is keenly interested in the birds that live in the large outdoor aviary at his new home. He particularly likes watching the quail scurrying around, and could spend hours sitting in the sun watching while they look for seeds to eat.

When he’s not at the office doing important puppy related work or trying to get the attention of the backyard birds, Jake finds a sunny spot in the house to relax or shares the sofa with his foster family. He has quickly grown from a little puppy fighting for one more day into a happy little dog, and we can’t thank you enough for helping us give him this opportunity.
