Romeo Needs Your Help 🐾❤️

Sweet Romeo has been battling painful ear infections since he arrived in BHRSC’s care last September. Despite months of treatment with the vets, including multiple rounds of steroids, countless ear cytologies and cultures, ear drops, flushes, and leave-in medications, his infection just won’t clear up.

Every 1–2 weeks Romeo has been back at the vet, and while our team hoped the treatments would finally bring relief, the infections continue to persist. After his most recent appointment, the veterinary team agreed it’s time for Romeo to see a veterinary dermatology specialist.

A specialist visit will give Romeo the best chance at finally getting this condition under control. The initial dermatology consultation along with diagnostics, medications, ear flushes, and follow-up visits, will most likely result in thousands of dollars of future medical expenses.

While the specialty visits may cost more upfront, our hope is that a dermatologist can finally identify the root cause and treat it effectively, so Romeo can stop living in discomfort and begin the happy, healthy life he deserves.

As a rescue, cases like Romeo’s quickly add up, and we rely entirely on the kindness of our community to help dogs like him get the care they need.
