Hello there kind and patient hearts.  My name is Toby, and I am a handsome 6 year-old basset boy in need of a special new forever family.  I have lived with my family my whole life, but I have had a hard time getting along with their other dogs or sharing my people, and my challenges became too much for a busy family to deal with.

I really love my people, and I feel very protective of them.  I will feel very protective of you and your family too, so it would be best if I was the only dog in my new home. I don’t really like to compete for the affection of my people. I love walks and I hope we can go on lots of them!  I also like when walks are over and I get some treats and belly rubs for being a good boy. I have been an outdoor dog, and I really want to work hard to learn to be a good indoor boy! I’m sure I would learn fast with some treats!
