Well hello there basset lovers!  My name is Sebastian, and I am a 4-year old gentleman in search of a forever home and family.  I already have lots of experience being a wonderful, mellow family hound, so all that remains is for us to meet and realize our hearts are a match!

I lived most of my life with one family after they rescued me from a backyard breeder.  But recently, their housing circumstances unexpectedly changed, and I had to move in with their older parents.  I was spending a lot of time in the garage and there wasn’t a lot of room for me to run around and play or exercise, so ultimately they made the difficult decision that hopefully BHRSC could help me find a loving new home.

I’m a pretty mellow and shy guy.  Actually, I can be kind of scared when I meet new people, until they take the time to sit with me and let me know everything will be okay and they mean me no harm.  After that I usually warm up pretty quickly.  I’m also not as shy when I have other dog friends around – they help boost my confidence, so I know I would get along with any other canine friends you might have.

I did well with training and in addition to being totally house-trained, I know and respond to several commands (come, sit, shake).  I also really enjoy going for walks, playing fetch, and sniffing all the wonderful smells!  I could use some help to shed some unwelcome pounds, so we can go for lots of walks together!
