Hello there basset lovers.  My name is Russel, and I am a 5-year old gentle-hound hoping that one of you out there has enough love in your heart and room in your home to add a mellow and gentle love-bug like me to your life.

I have rescue experience, and have lived with my nice family for the last 3 years.  Unfortunately, work and life challenges have made their living situation precarious, and they think it’s better if I can be with a family that can provide more stability and spend more time with me.

I’m a very sweet dog, and I especially enjoy snuggling up with you for belly rubs.  I’m generally very calm and relaxed, but fireworks and other loud noises frighten me and I will try anything to get away from them, so it would be best if my new home has a very secure yard and I get to live indoors so I don’t try to flee scary noises.  I’ve mostly lived outdoors, so I hope you won’t mind helping me out with a little refresher on my indoor manners.  I don’t like going for walks and can be a little stubborn about it, but if we come up with some games that makes exercise seem like fun, I am more amenable.

Russel is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines.  He has also had lab work and a veterinary dental cleaning.  His adoption fee is $500.
