Hello there Friends of the Basset!  My name is Rufus, and I am a mellow fellow of 10 years looking for a friendly retirement home and loving forever family to spend the rest of my days with.

Recently my family met with some hardship and made the difficult decision that I might be better off with another family that has more time to devote to me.  They took me to a shelter, and that was a very nerve-wracking experience for me!  I get the idea that sometimes there are not always happy endings there!  Thankfully, BHRSC and their allies always have an eye out at those places.  They came to get me very quickly, and here I am, ready to love YOU!  I am a very sweet guy and I can’t wait to meet you.  I especially love to be pet and cuddled – I am an excellent cuddler.
