Hello basset friends.  We are Ruby and PJ, a bonded mother-son pair of down-to-Earth Midwestern hounds looking for our day in the sun (and forever family!) here in California!  We have heard that dreams come true here, and we hope so because our dream is to expand our little family to yours!

Ruby here.  I am a dignified senior lady of 10 years, and my handsome (if I do say so myself!) son PJ is 5.  We have never been separated, so it is very important that our forever family has room in their hearts and home for both of us.  But we know once you meet us, you couldn’t imagine anything else!

We’ve been on quite an adventure, coming out to California all the way from the middle of this great country.  Before that, we were given up to a rescue in the Midwest by our previous owners.  We’re not sure why, but after so many changes and such a long drive, we are really ready to settle in to a stable environment.  We are hoping for consistent treats, pats, and affirmation, and in return we promise you endless hound-dog love and kisses!  Doesn’t that sound like a good deal?  We also left Oklahoma with some bug-borne ailments common out there, but BHRSC has been treating us and we just need you to continue a little while longer with our medicine.

Ruby is spayed and PJ is neutered, and they are both microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines.  They have also had lab work, veterinary dental cleanings, and treatment for their heartworm and Ehrlichia. Their adoption fee is $600.
