Greetings hound dog lovers! My name is Penny and I am a ten year old brown and white female Basset Hound. I was abandoned at the Downey shelter in February after being neglected for some time. I was filthy when Basset Hound Rescue of Southern California (BHRSC) rescued me. They provided me with both medical and cosmetic “spa days” and now I look and feel GORGEOUS! I am even smiling in my glamour shots because I feel so beautiful after a bath and nail trim. I don’t like to be dirty; I am too much of a sweet feminine little girl for that. And I wear my big basset smile most of the time anyway because I know my new life will be beautiful too!
Do you like the band the Beatles? Maybe if you adopt me and give me a loving home, you could give me a new start by calling me Penny Lane. Once you see me, I will forever be in your “ears and in your eyes”. I would like to live somewhere “beneath the blue suburban skies”.
What do you think? Would you like to provide me with a loving family to become a part of? I love going on walks and am very obedient on a leash. I love and am friendly to humans of all ages. I am even interested in becoming a part of a home with other dogs. I don’t remember ever living inside, so I can’t wait to be an indoor dog and snuggle up with you! I promise to work hard to learn my best indoor manners!
Penny is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. She has also had lab work done, masses removed, and a veterinary ear and dental cleaning. Her adoption fee is $200.
