Peanut

Peanut

Well hello there basset lovers!  My name is Peanut, and I think you might be just the people to help me write the rest of my story.  I am a 2-year-old boy, on the smaller side for a basset, but I have a big and mighty heart – the better to love you with!

I lived out in the desert with my first human mom, but she couldn’t take care of me and gave me to a new family.  They were super-nice but very concerned about me, as at the time, I seemed very anxious and would pace and pant.  They were concerned that my condition was related to being around their other dogs and thought it might be best if BHRSC would help me find a forever family.  Well, it turns out it wasn’t anxiety.  I like other dogs just fine, but I had a serious heart condition!  Thankfully, BHRSC was able to get me to the cardiologist and she performed the heart surgery I needed.

I am now fully recovered from my surgery, and I will get to live the life of a normal hound.  I like all the normal dog things, including going for walks, sniffing all the sniffs, playing with my friends, and most especially, hanging out with my people.  I’m a pretty mellow, laid-back guy, very sweet and affectionate.  And now that I have a fully repaired heart, I can do all these things with my usual basset joie-de-vive!

Is yours the family I can give all that affection to?  Call BHRSC and let’s meet soon!

Peanut is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $500.
