Happy Holidays basset friends!  My name is Olivia, and I am a sweet, Oreo-cookie colored 2-year old girl looking for a forever family to make my Christmas wishes come true.

I have been with my human mom for about a year and a half.  She loved me tons but was facing some of the health challenges of getting older and couldn’t walk me or play with me much anymore, so she thought it would be best if I could find a home where my family can do those things and help me with the transition from puppyhood to adult basset hound.

I am a very sweet and exuberant hound and I love to play!  I love chasing balls, going for rides, playing tug of war with toys, getting belly rubs, and naps of course!  I like to curl up and snuggle-nap with my people.  And sometimes, if you’re not looking, my nose will lead me to play with some things I’m probably not supposed to, like trash.  But I’m sure I can learn to direct my energy toward the right things!  I like other dogs but I can be protective of my bones (not treats or toys, just bones).  And I like people, but sometimes visiting toddlers have thought it was okay to hit me or poke at my eyes, so I tend to get nervous and warn toddlers to keep some space.
