Hi there friends of the hounds! My name is Napoleon, and I am just the cutest and liveliest basset boy you will ever want to meet. The vet estimates I am about 6 years old. Much like my namesake, I have ranged far and wide, but I am looking for the treasure of a forever family instead of empire.
I recently arrived in southern California after a long journey on the last Hound Haul. Before that, I found myself in a very dicey situation – a high-kill shelter in Oklahoma. I don’t know why; I’m such a friendly and affectionate fellow! I can’t imagine how anyone wouldn’t want me by their side forever. Mercifully for me, there are lots of hound lovers out there, and they helped me to escape my version of Elba Island and return to polite society here.
I am a petite basset hound, but I have a big heart and personality to make up for it! After my travails, I am rather skinny and I would enjoy my forever family plumping me up a little bit – balanced with exploration, adventure, and play time of course! I also have a congenital eye defect that means I am blind in my right eye – it doesn’t bother me or impact my ability to get around and enjoy life, but it will help if my new family is mindful about keeping it clean. I am also finishing up treatment for heartworm so I may need you to keep up with some pills for a little while.
So what do you say? Doesn’t an adorable, energetic, affectionate basset fellow sound like the ideal new ruler of your heart? Call BHRSC now and let’s meet ASAP to confirm it! You’ll see right away that I am just the fun “personality-plus” hound to add to your home!
Napoleon is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. He has also had lab work, a veterinary dental cleaning, and an eye exam. His adoption fee is $350.
