Molly

Molly

Hi basset friends.  My name is Molly, and I am a 4-year old basset gal in need of a stable, loving forever home.  Some of my background is a mystery and might be leading to a few challenges I have had, but I am such a sweet and loving girl.  I know I just need to find the right environment, and I hope it can be at your house, loving on your family!

I originally came to California on one of the Hound Hauls last summer after I was abandoned at a shelter in Texas.  I’m not sure how I wound up there, but I was adopted by a wonderful, hound-loving family and things went really well for a long time.  But then they rescued a smaller terrier, and I had some trouble adjusting. We think maybe I had some bad experiences in my past and I sometimes find it necessary to over-assert myself with other dogs.  I don’t necessarily need to be an only dog, although if there are canine brothers or sisters in my new home we think it would be best if they are my size or larger, and submissive.

I really love people though, and am very sweet and approachable.  I love to chew bones and play with squeak toys. My favorite things are belly and ear rubs, and I will reward these with lots of basset kisses for you!  I’m pretty mellow most of the time, but sometimes I get a burst of energy and I love to race around the backyard! Then I flop down for nap time. I’m good at naps too, though I don’t always like being awakened from them.  But if the reward is time with you, then I’m all about it.

What do you think?  Doesn’t a sweet, loving hound gal sound like just what your family’s been missing?  I’m a little overwhelmed and really hoping someone decides to call me their own soon.  Call BHRSC ASAP and let’s get together!

Molly is spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $500.
