Hey there! My name is Max and I am one energetic basset! The nice people at BHRSC say I’m about 8 years old, but I feel like a puppy at heart and would love to get to know you!  I spent my whole adult life working as a stud dog in a backyard breeding operation.  Once my breeding days were behind me, it seemed my utility to the breeders waned, and they left me at a shelter.  Thankfully, the shelter folks knew to call BHRSC to help me find a forever family, and now here I am, just waiting for you!  I even took a helicopter ride from Fresno to come find you!

I am VERY outgoing, friendly with other dogs and people, and very ready for the stability of a forever home. Did I mention I am energetic? Seriously, I have lots of energy to burn! And I am somewhat of an escape artist … What can I say, I’m curious about the world around me!

I never got to be an indoor dog, so it may take some time for me to adjust to and master my best indoor manners.  But with patience and training, I know I can do it! I am such a good boy and would love to show you, so contact BHRSC and let’s set something up!

Max is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines.  He has also had lab work, a veterinary dental cleaning, and been treated for heartworm.  His adoption fee is $350.
