Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong…g’day, basset mates! My name is Matilda, and while that may sound like I’m from Down Under, I’m really a 10-year old lifelong Californian in need of a forever home.

I have a lot of faith in BHRSC, because they have helped me before and they know lots of wonderful big-hearted basset lovers like you! About 8 years ago, they helped me find a home when I was lost. I have been with the same family since then and they loved me very much, but unexpected health and economic challenges of their own meant that they can no longer provide a home for me.

I am a very laid-back, friendly, and affectionate gal. While I have always had access to a backyard and enjoy playing outside, I am fully house- trained and love being an indoor dog and spending time shadowing my people. I especially enjoy snuggle time! I get along great with other dogs, in fact there has always been another dog where I’ve lived. I like kids too, so I can’t wait to slide right into family life at your house.
