Hi basset lovers!  My name is Sophie, and I am a 10-year old basset gal in need of a loving forever retirement home to lay my head. I may be a senior basset, but I am super-friendly and have tons of hound-dog love left to give, so I am really just hoping that a wonderful family that I can stay with forever is out there for me.

I know just what to do when we meet and I get to go home with you!  You see, I have rescue experience. I was rescued from the pound a number of years ago. My family recently had to move to a place where I had to stay outside most of the day. Unfortunately, this made me try to escape the yard a lot and my family was afraid that this could be dangerous for me. We all agreed it would be better if I could live with a family where I can be indoors most of the time and I would really love it if my people were around a lot too.

I still have a lot of energy for a senior dog, and everyone who meets me says I am just the sweetest gal!  My favorite things to do though are lie in the sun and get snuggles from my people. I like all kinds of people and get along well with other dogs and cats, so fur siblings would be great.

I do have some tummy problems to tell you about though. The doctors call it IBD. I will need a special diet and for my new family to make sure my tummy stays happy. Is yours the family that will take care of me?  Call BHRSC and let’s meet as soon as we can!
