Hello basset lovers! My name is Julie and I’m pleased to meet you! I’m a refined hound of 7 years; and I’ve recently moved to BHRSC because unfortunately my sweet owner passed away.

In my younger years, I was a show dog! In fact, I was grand champion for two years in a row!!!  I don’t like to brag, but I think when you meet me you will be able to see why. I am also the mother of FOUR grand champions! I’m a very proud momma. When I retired from the ring and my nest emptied, I moved in with my favorite human ever; we were together for about 4 years. I’m a laid-back gal and enjoy relaxing around the house.  I am hoping to retire in a home where there is someone that I could be best buddies with; but one small secret–I have always preferred the company of men!

I get along with kids, heck I had a few of my own! I’m a very sweet dog, but I tend to be shy with everyone at first.  I will warm up after we get to spend quality time getting to know each other. I would like a home with a backyard but I prefer to spend most of my days indoors just holding down my bed; I am also fully house and crate trained and, as an added bonus, I had my stomach tacked down by a vet when I was younger so you will never have to worry about bloat with me like you do with other hounds. My extra basset wrinkles will require some extra up-keep though. Just one of the things that goes along with an extra wrinkly show hound like me!

Julie is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines.  She has also had lab work and a veterinary dental cleaning.  Her adoption fee is $350.
