Guten tag, freunden von die Hunden! (Greetings, friends of the hounds!). My name is Hans, and I am a handsome and gentle basset gentleman of 5 years. Even though I have a dignified German name, I am an all-American hound dog, and I am hoping that during this summer season there is a family out there looking for someone just like me to welcome in their hearts and home forever!
I lived my whole life with my previous family, but over the last few months I fell ill with severe ear infections and they spent a lot of time and resources trying to fight against them. Ultimately, all the necessary treatments put too much of a strain on them, so they made the difficult decision to have BHRSC help me get better and find a new home. I have been getting the medications and treatments I need and very soon these infections will be a thing of the past and I will be good as new! I do still have more treatments and rechecks needed to get there, but I hope my new family can work with BHRSC to get that done.
I am a very mellow, calm dog. I’m even a little shy around new people sometimes. I’m a wonderful family hound though – I love playing with kids and am very gentle with them. I’ve also lived with other dogs, but have been an only hound since my basset brother passed away a couple years ago. I would love to be part of a loving family home. I’ve been through house-training, but have mostly lived as an outdoor dog so when I move inside with your family, I might need a little refresher.
What do you think? Doesn’t a mellow, loving gentle-hound sound like a wonderful addition to your family? Call BHRSC and let’s meet today!
Hans is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $500.
