Hello hound-loving human friends!  My name is Gordo, and I am a very handsome (everyone says so!), energetic 3-year old boy on a long-term hunt for my forever family.  I hope that is with you!

I have had a very confusing and challenging time and I could really use the comfort and consistency of a forever home.  I was found abandoned by the roadside a while back. Thankfully someone picked me up, but then left me with friends and never came back.  I’ve lived the last few months with a nice family who worked hard to incorporate me into their home, but they worked a lot and also had 2 smaller dogs who didn’t like having me there.  We think it would be better for everyone if I could find a forever home where my family has more time available to help me feel secure and learn my best manners.

I’m a very friendly and energetic guy.  I love to explore and am used to going for walks every day.  I also like to swim! I am eager to please and to give my hound dog love to my new family, but I hope they are willing to be a little patient with me.  My life has always been in flux and I have never really felt sure about my environment, so I can get a little grabby with food. I think if I can finally have a stable forever home and a family who is willing to be consistent with some training, I can learn quickly, feel secure, and my friendliness and enthusiasm can blossom into a very well-mannered boy!

Gordo is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.  He has also had lab work and a veterinary dental cleaning. His adoption fee is $500.
