“Are you lonesome tonight?” I’m Elvis and I ain’t nothing but a hound dog! I am an eight-year-old boy and, according to BHRSC, I am just “a big hunk of love.” I am very handsome, hearty, and friendly. I enjoy walks on my leash and enjoy the outdoors. I have received basic training from my previous owners and understand the “sit”, “stay”, and “quiet” commands. My previous owners had a baby I had a hard time adjusting to all the attention that the small human got – I thought that attention was supposed to be for me! I felt envious and a little threatened by the small human, and sometimes I would make that clear in inappropriate ways. Unfortunately, that won’t really work in a family dynamic, so it was best for me to find a new home. I am “all shook up” and living in “heartbreak hotel”. I would like a family that can be patient with me and teach me lots of new things. I tend to be more motivated when offered treats, but who isn’t?
I have had a fascination with water bottles since I was a puppy. I like to play with them and protect them. I can also be protective of other things like my food, water dish, and toys. Due to these issues, I should really be in a home without children. So, what are you waiting for? I need a new home and you need a great dog, so “it’s now or never”. I just want someone to “love me tender.” “I just can’t help believing” that there is a perfect home out there for me where I can be “stuck with you.”
Elvis is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his vaccines. He has also had lab work and a veterinary dental cleaning. His adoption fee is $350.
