Greetings Basset Hound lovers! I am Dixie; a five year old Southern gal from Oklahoma.  Recently, I found myself in a state of single motherhood with 7 puppies. While in this delicate state y’all,  I was either abandoned or surrendered.  Can you imagine? It was a scary time for me!  I didn’t know anything about being a Mom or how I would take care of my 7 young ‘uns. I was alone and scared.  They say the mothering instinct kicks in when your puppies are born and that was true of me. When my puppies were born, I took to mothering naturally and took good care of my own.  I looked over them the best I could! Now that homes have been found for all of my little dumplings,  I need to find a home for myself.  I will miss my puppies, but now it is time to get my life and figure back.

So, here is some information about me; sweet Dixie girl, as I would like to be called.  I am very sweet and affectionate.  After taking care of 7 puppies, I want to just crawl into someone’s lap and cuddle. I would love for someone to take care of me because I am a little tired.   I will dazzle you with my use of a dog door!  I am very social and get along well with other dogs. I would like to sit on a porch with you and be your companion, like all good Southern girls love to do. Although, a couch or bed would work just fine for me too.  We could gossip, have some snacks, sleep, or even listen to some Dolly Parton songs together. So, what do you think? This Southern gal needs a home and you need an affectionate dog that will love you unconditionally. May I come live with you and have a safe and happy new home in 2020?

Dixie is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines.  She has also had lab work and a veterinary dental cleaning.  Her adoption fee is $500.
