Daisy

Daisy

Greetings Basset Hound Lovers! I am a unique, loving, and loyal three year old mostly basset, but a little bit dachshund named Daisy.  I have been through a lot in my life; including moving to California from Hermosillo, Mexico and having a litter of puppies.  My puppies have all been adopted by wonderful families and given safe and happy homes.  Now that my nest is empty, I need to move on with my life and find my forever home as well.  I am a bit shy and reserved, but who wouldn’t be with all I have experienced in my short years?

I was rescued from a shelter in Mexico while pregnant with a litter of puppies.  Can you believe a doll like me was slated to be put down?  Thankfully a wonderful family intervened and brought me back to California to see me through my pregnancy and help the puppies get adopted, but they already had two dogs and didn’t feel they could permanently manage more.   I may be bilingual and understand both Spanish and English. However, my future forever family will just need to speak the language of love to me, nothing else will matter when it comes to communication.  I know the commands “sit” and “come” and am willing to learn any new tricks and words you want me to know.  Now that my litter has been adopted, I am returning to my old playfulness.  I am a wonderful dog and would like the opportunity to find a family that will be patient and love me while I adjust to a new home.  I want a home where I can be friendly and climb in peoples’ laps.  I am very relaxed and calm and would make an excellent companion for a family with children or other dogs.  I know my name (Daisy) and will come to you when you call me.  I will allow someone to groom me; after all, a girl needs to look good, right? I like dog cookies and I am motivated by food. I can be left home alone indoors, but I would also like to have access to the outdoors and a home with a safe and secure yard space.  I am respectful of other dogs and humans and I don’t growl, snap, or bite.  If all this sounds like the perfect hound fit for your family, call BHRSC today and let’s meet!

Daisy is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.  She has also had lab work and a veterinary dental cleaning done.  Her adoption fee is $500.
