Hi there! My name is Cooper and I am a young, hound mix looking for my forever home! I am not a Basset Hound – the DNA test says that I am a beagle/black & tan coonhound mix!  Though not exactly a basset, I have a lot of love and energy to offer! I love to play in general, and I’m learning to play fetch (although, I’m still practicing how to bring the toys back) so a spacious gated yard would be great!

As my owner got older, they realized I was just too much for them to take care of, but I know I am a good boy and we could really hit it off! I am just a year old, so I am an energetic and excitable dog, and I love running in the yard!

I’ve already learned so much like using stairs, how to pay attention to a trainer, the off, down and stay commands, coming when called by my name, riding in a car with the window open and even cuddling!

I am looking for a home with people who are there a lot because I have a bit of separation anxiety. I am nervous around new people at first, so I would like a quiet home without a lot of new people coming and going. I will also need someone who has the time and patience to train me and teach me some manners, but BHRSC will help out with that, too!
