Hello there basset friends.  My name is Baxter, and I am a dignified senior hound of 13 years.  I have heard that many seniors retire to warmer climates, and I just came to SoCal on the Hound Haul from Oklahoma, so it seems I am doing the same thing myself!

I lived with a nice family out there, but they had to move and I could not go with them.  So instead, we packed up my things and I came out to sunny SoCal.  The warm weather is probably better for my arthritis I’m told. I am a very handsome and dapper older gentleman, so I just know that there is a forever family waiting for me here with a warm place to lay my head for the rest of my years.  I love all human family members, especially the ones that understand that I’m a retiree and not as high-energy as I used to be. I get along with other dog and cat friends too.  I especially love it when people will give me some pets and comfort me that we will stick together.
