Hello there basset saviors. My name is Albert, and I am a very special 10-year old basset boy. I have some very special needs, but I also have a big basset heart that is waiting to give love to my special forever family.
I’ve been blessed with the gift of years, but they have been hard years. I found myself at the shelter in pretty rough shape. Wherever I was and whatever I was doing before that, no one had been taking care of me and what would ordinarily be routine matters for an aging hound became significant challenges. BHRSC has been taking care of me for a while now, but my previously untreated problems mean I can no longer see or hear.
I’ve been adjusting to getting around with my other senses. I like kids and other dogs just fine, but it would be best if any kids are older and any dogs are mellow. Since I can’t see anymore, I sometimes bump into things, including dogs and people. I’d need any kids or dogs to be understanding about that. I also need a family that will be able to continue my daily eye drops and long-term ear care.
What do you think? I’m a really good boy and I have a kind, if still guarded, heart. I think we can help each other out. If you’ve been looking for a mellow basset companion, or you feel called to love on a senior gentleman who’s had a hard time, I am your guy. Let’s meet soon so we can make it official!
Albert is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, had a dental cleaning and has been evaluated & treated by an ophthalmologist and a dermatologist . His adoption fee is $200.
