Jack

Jack

Hello there Friends of the Long Ear!  I am Jack, a senior-hound in search of a restful retirement forever home to lay my weary head.  No one is quite sure, but it’s thought I am about 12 years old, so I have lots of experience at being a good basset that I promise to bring to your family!

I lived almost my whole life with the same human Mom and Dad, but time took its’ toll on our little family.  First my Dad passed away, and then it became clear that my Mom had something called Alzheimer’s.  I am not totally sure what that is, but she seemed to get forgetful and have a hard time taking care of herself, and I didn’t get a lot of attention the last year or two.  When she needed to go to a special home, I couldn’t go with her, and the few relatives she had were not able to take me in permanently.  So here I am at BHRSC.

I am a very good and mellow boy, and pretty low maintenance.  I have had a lot of changes in my life lately though, so I have been nervous in my foster home. I really want to feel secure and I can’t wait to find a forever home so I can get comfortable and settle in.  Right now, loud noises and sudden movements startle me so I don’t think I would like a home with small children. I am well-mannered on walks, but as you can imagine, I would like to spend most of my retirement resting. I am house-trained, so once I learn the lay of the land at your place, that shouldn’t be a problem.

So what do you say?  Does a dapper gentlemen sound like just the right addition to your family’s home and hearts?  Call BHRSC and let’s meet ASAP!

Jack is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his vaccines.  His adoption fee is $150.
